Valves for Water, Heating and Compressed Air

In hot and cold water systems, heating installations, district heating and compressed air lines, cast iron and sphero ball valves and steel ball valves are used; the check valve and strainer complete the line. Below you can find our valves for water, heating and compressed air lines and the main features of each type.

How to Select Valves for Water, Heating and Compressed Air

When you select valves for water, heating and compressed air systems, first determine the pressure class of the line, the temperature of the medium and the pipe size. As the temperature rises, the permissible working pressure of a valve decreases, so pressure and temperature must be evaluated together on hot water and heating lines. Our technical tables help you size the pipe: the recommended flow velocities for water, air and gas, the flow diagram and the compressed air capacity by pipe size were prepared for this purpose.

Cast Iron and Ductile Iron Ball Valves

Cast iron and ductile iron ball valves are the most widely used valves for water, heating and compressed air in hot and cold water systems, heating installations and district heating. They are manufactured to TS 3148 from PN 6 to PN 25. Steel ball valves are used on lines that require a higher pressure.

Check Valves and Strainers

A check valve prevents backflow and is used on water, hot water, steam, compressed air and gas lines. Where space is limited, the type installed between two flanges can be preferred. On lines carrying rust, scale or slag, a strainer is installed upstream of the valve, so that dirt is held before it reaches the valve. Strainers are manufactured in PN 16, PN 25, PN 40 and Class 300.

Directing the Flow: 3 Way Ball Valve

When the flow in a heating installation has to be switched between two lines, or two media have to be mixed, a 3 way ball valve is used. The L-port design diverts the flow by 90°, while the T-port design can mix the media or distribute the flow in three directions.

Compressed Air Lines

The same product group is used on compressed air lines: cast iron, ductile iron or steel ball valves, check valves and strainers. Our tables for the volume of free air under pressure and the air capacity by pipe size help with line design.
