Before it is installed on a line, a valve passes through eight stages: design, materials, machining, coating and welding, assembly, testing, painting and shipment. What is done and what is checked at each stage is summarised below.
From design to shipment
Design and engineering
- The valve is designed with computer-aided design (CAD/CAM) software.
- Its strength under service conditions is examined by finite element analysis and the design is improved accordingly.
- On pig valves the face-to-face dimension can be adapted to the customer's line.

1
Materials
- Materials are procured in accordance with technical specifications.
- Each batch is delivered with a test certificate stating its chemical and mechanical values.
- Incoming material is inspected for dimensions, appearance and certification.
EN 10204 3.1
2
Machining (CNC)
- The body, closure, stem and seat rings are machined to size on CNC lathes and machining centres.
- Machining is carried out at two facilities, in Dilovası and Sakarya.
- After each operation the dimensions of the part are checked against the technical drawing.
3
Coating and welding
- Carbon steel balls are nickel plated (ENP).
- After plating the surface is polished and inspected.
- The body of fully welded valves is closed by welding.
4
Assembly
- Parts are assembled in the sequence set out in the work instruction.
- The body studs are tightened crosswise to the specified torque value.
- After assembly the operating torque is measured and recorded.
5
Pressure and leak tests
- Every valve is tested individually before shipment.
- The shell test is carried out at 1.5 times and the seat test at 1.1 times the working pressure.
- On request, a leak test with air at 6 bar is also applied.
API 6DAPI 598ISO 5208
6
Painting and marking
- The valve is painted; paint thickness and adhesion are checked.
- The size, pressure rating, material, date of manufacture and serial number are marked on the nameplate.
- The serial number provides traceability of the product.
7
Packaging and shipment
- The end connections are closed with covers to prevent the ingress of foreign matter.
- Valves are shipped on pallets in boxes or wooden crates.
- Heavy valves are handled by their lifting lugs.
8
Manufacturing standards
